Pay Per Click (PPC) Search Engines
As it is sometimes difficult or almost impossible to achieve a top position in the search engines for certain keywords, one often ends up thinking "isn't there an best and easier way to do this?". Well, of course there is, but it is not free though.
PPC search engines are an excellent way to get targeted traffic to your site. You only pay when someone
actually comes to your site (pay for performance). And if you choose your keywords well, chances are this
someone will be a very good prospect. In addition, you don't have to wait weeks or months to appear in
these search engines. As soon as your site information is approved, you are there!
Their system is relatively simple: You select a keyword and decide how much you are willing to pay for each visitor that visits your site through the search results. The more money you can cough up, the higher you will rank on the result list. The only limitation is that your site must be at least vaguely relevant to the keyword you want to bid on.
If you have never thought about using PPC search engines to promote your site, we suggest that you give them a try. The most popular Pay-Per-Click search engines are:
- Google AdWords
Minimum bid is 5 cents. These ads are displays on the right side of the search results. Note that the search results are not influenced by the adwords, and remain merit based.
- OverTure
Overture was the first Pay Per Click search engine. The minimum bid is 10 cents. Overtures offers a $10 bonus when you join.
- FindWhat
Offers bid amounts as small as 1 cent. However, it is generally believed that Overture and Google adwords offer better conversion rates compared to FindWhat.com.
